Gothic:
Gothic music is normally heavily linked to the gothic sub-culture which particularly embraces themes of nature, excess and decay over order, logic and reason, often with a bent towards the supernatural. The music itself developed from punk and metal and is particularly popular with an alternative young audience. Some of the main venues for up and coming goth bands include 13th Note and QMU in Glasgow. The Dark City Festival takes place in Edinburgh each year and celebrates gothic and alternative lifestyles. |
